Fifty-nine years ago this week, Johnny O’Keefe recorded She’s My Baby in Los Angeles.

The first episode of Countdownwent to air this week in 1974. The line-up was all Australian – Sherbet, Daryl Braithwaite (solo), Skyhooks, Johnny Farnham and Linda George.

Thirty years ago this week, Kylie’s cover of The Loco-Motion peaked at number three in the US.

Happy Birthday to Matt Corby, who is 28 on November 7; Delta Goodrem is 34, and Sean Kelly is 60 on November 9; and Silverchair bass player Chris Joannou is 38 on November 10.

Tracy Pew, bass player for The Birthday Party, died, aged 28, after an epileptic seizure, this week in 1986. Nick Cave called him, “The one male genius I’ve ever met.”

We also remember the great George Young, from The Easybeats, who would have been 72 on November 6. And Dame Joan Sutherland – another of the first inductees into the ARIA Hall of Fame – would have been 92 on November 7.
